5 Times Prince David Osei Hit Hard at the NDC

, Ghana Street Journal

Ghanaian actor and staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Prince David Osei, has never shied away from expressing his political views.

Over the years, he has been particularly vocal about his criticisms of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This article highlights some of the most notable moments when Prince David Osei hit hard at the NDC, showcasing his unwavering support for the NPP and his belief in their policies.

1. NPP is Ghana’s Only Hope

In August 2024, Prince David Osei made headlines with his bold statement that the NPP is Ghana’s only hope, while the NDC would lead the country into disaster.

Speaking at the NPP manifesto launch, he urged Ghanaians to vote for the NPP in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that the alternative would be detrimental to the nation’s progress. He highlighted the NPP’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as providing free electricity and water, as examples of their effective leadership.

2. Criticism of NDC’s Economic Policies

Prince David Osei has frequently criticized the NDC’s economic policies, arguing that they lack the vision and capability to steer Ghana towards prosperity. He has pointed out that the economic hardships faced by Ghanaians are part of a global phenomenon and not exclusive to Ghana. According to him, the NDC’s approach would only exacerbate these challenges, leading to further economic decline.

3. Support for John Dumelo Over NDC Candidate

In a surprising move, Prince David Osei announced his support for John Dumelo, an NDC parliamentary candidate, over the NPP’s Lydia Seyram Alhassan for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat. Despite his allegiance to the NPP, Osei criticized Alhassan for being ungrateful and expressed his belief that Dumelo would better represent the interests of the creative arts industry in parliament.  This decision highlighted his willingness to prioritize the greater good over party loyalty.

4. NDC Is Not the Solution

In another instance, Prince David Osei strongly advised Ghanaians to vote for the NPP, warning that choosing the NDC could lead to dire consequences for the nation. He reiterated his stance that the NDC lacks the solutions needed to address Ghana’s challenges and that the NPP remains the best option for sustainable development and progress.

5. Social Media Rants and Public Statements

Prince David Osei has also taken to social media to voice his criticisms of the NDC. His posts often highlight what he perceives as the party’s failures and shortcomings, urging his followers to support the NPP instead. These rants have sparked widespread discussions and debates, further cementing his position as a vocal critic of the NDC.
