Ras Kuuku has expressed his support for Stonebwoy to win the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
The Artiste of the Year award is considered the highest honour at the event organized by Charterhouse.
Kuuku justified his choice by highlighting Stonebwoy’s hard work throughout the year, which included securing significant performances both within and outside the country.
Kuuku spoke to Andy Dosty on Hitz clarifying his posture by saying;
He is one of the hardworking artistes under the year of review. If I am given the opportunity to choose my artiste of the year I will choose Stonebwoy, the connections, the gigs and everything I will choose him. Big ups yourself my brother.
The TGMAs take place annually in either April, May, or June and are broadcast locally on GHOne TV, GTV, and/or TV3. Additionally, the event is televised outside of Ghana on the Akwaaba Magic channel, available on the satellite TV platform DStv and terrestrial TV platform GOtv.
Before the introduction of the Akwaaba Magic channel in 2021, the TGMAs were broadcast internationally on DStv channels 155 and 198, as well as GOtv channel 110.
In 2020, the nominee’s jam, a precursor event to the TGMAs, was initially postponed and later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana and the subsequent national directive on public gatherings.
The 23rd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Day 1 took place on the evening of May 6, 2022. It was a night filled with emotions for Ghanaian artists, and Black Sherif, a Ghanaian Hip-Hop/Rap artist, emerged as the winner of the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the 24th VGMA.
Black Sherif was overwhelmed with joy and celebrated his victory by performing some of his songs alongside his fans on stage. The Ghana Music Awards is widely recognized as the most significant music event in Ghana.
