Tonight, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, six exceptional artists who have made a mark in the past year will be vying for the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
The musicians in contention are King Promise, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Nacee, Black Sherif, and Kuame Eugene.
However, the spotlight seems to be on Stonebwoy and King Promise, as they are considered the frontrunners for this esteemed accolade.
In anticipation of the grand event, both artists and their devoted fans have been actively expressing their opinions on various social media platforms.

Through interviews and social media posts, Stonebwoy and King Promise have passionately articulated why they believe they are deserving of the Artiste of the Year award, which holds immense significance in the music industry.
Notably, King Promise recently conveyed his unwavering confidence to Graphic Showbiz regarding his chances of securing this highly coveted prize.
He had this to say: “100%, won’t you be surprised? We’ve done one hell of a job. I’m not saying..;we both don’t know who will win it. I believe I’m winning it. I believe I deserve to win it.
He continued, “these days I just spit facts. Really I’m not one to blow my own horn or say stuff. I feel like this is the one everyone has spoken about the most in a very long time because you could tell like what we have done with our past releases over the past year and the work we’ve put in just representing the motherland to the rest of the world and being a worthy face of Ghanaian music.”
Stonebwoy recently shared with 3News his reasons for believing he should win the Artiste of the Year award. Here are his words;
“Let me be very honest without disrespecting anybody, I have won Artiste of the Year for Reggae/Dancehall six consecutive times.
“I have been nominated for Artiste of the Year four times, and all things being equal, I should have won it four times.”
“I have put in a lot of work this year, and I believe that my music has had a big impact,” he said. “I’m hoping that this year will be my year.”
