According to a sad report which occurred just minutes ago on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 15 passengers have died on the spot, whiles 25 others have sustained major degrees of injuries after a Youtong bus collided with Fuel Tanker at Gomoa Okyereko.

To this end, the Central Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), D.O 3 Abdul W Hudu, has attributed the spate of accidents on the highways in the region to overspeeding.

He issued a warning to motorists to reduce their highway speed. On Tuesday, May 30, he warned that drivers need to exercise caution on the road when speaking on TV3’s midday broadcast.

At Gomoa Okyereko in the Central Region, there was an accident that resulted in sixteen fatalities and numerous injuries. An Accra-bound Yutong bus and a fuel truck with the license plate WR 2063-10 were both involved in the collision. The 15 passengers perished there and then.
