Yvonne Nelson has given netizens plenty to talk about after she sent a congratulatory message to John Dumelo immediately after the biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), endorsed him to lead the party in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the 2024 elections.
Given the rumored affair the two great thespians allegedly had in the past, Yvonne Nelson’s message has done well to churn the debate and give those idle netizens something to prey on in the grapevine.
The filmmaker shared a photo of John Dumlo being given the nod unopposed while adding the message, ‘Congratulations sweets.’
Ahead of the 2024 general elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency endorsed actor-turned-politician John Dumelo’s candidacy.
The other two candidates agreed to withdraw from the contest so that Mr. Dumelo could represent the NDC in the elections that will be held in 2024, according to a statement released by the party and signed by the constituency chairman, Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey.
On August 8, one of the candidates, Fred Nuamah, announced his withdrawal from the campaign and vowed his unwavering support for Mr. Dumelo. The party also urged members of the general public and NDC supporters to back Mr. Dumelo in his bid to unseat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, hereby issues this press statement to officially announce a significant development in our parliamentary candidate selection process for the 2024 general elections.
Upon further consultation with the party hierarchy and after engaging in constructive discussions with all the aspirants, we are pleased to inform the General Public that the two other aspirants have graciously accepted to give the nod to Mr. John Dumelo to represent the party.
As a result of this harmonious agreement, we proudly endorse and present Mr. John Dumelo as the official NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency for the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary Elections.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the other aspirants who have demonstrated their loyalty to the party and its values by making this selfless decision for the greater good of the NDC and the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
We call upon all party members, supporters, constituents, and the public to rally behind Mr. John Dumelo and support his campaign wholeheartedly. Together, let us work towards the shared goal of securing victory for the NDC in Ayawaso West Wuogon and building the Ghana we want together.
