Ghanaian musician Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Sarkodie for his support during his successful campaign for the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Presidency.
Taking to X, Guru, who has just been elected President, credited Sarkodie’s advice and on-stage endorsement as key factors that ignited his campaign.
“Sarkodie, indeed you are my bonafide Gee. Your advice and endorsement on stage ignited my campaign. God bless you,” Guru wrote, acknowledging the impact Sarkodie had on his journey to victory.
Guru won the 2024 University of Ghana Students Representative Council (SRC) presidential election on September 18, 2024.
Running with his vice-presidential candidate, Jeffery Adu-Yeboah, they secured 9,455 votes, which accounted for 50.7% of the total votes cast.
This victory followed a dramatic campaign in which Guru was initially disqualified due to technicalities related to his non-resident status, as stipulated by the SRC constitution.
