Afia Schwarzenegger has criticized Ebenezer Smith, also known as Chef Smith, for the disgrace he has caused to Ghana due to his controversial Guinness World Record attempt.

Chef Smith made headlines on July 2 when he hosted a press conference where he proudly declared that he had achieved the title of the longest individual cooking marathon as per the guidelines of Guinness World Records (GWR).

During the event, he displayed a plaque that he asserted was sent by the record scheme’s organizers, providing evidence to support his assertion.

Nevertheless, there have been doubts raised about the authenticity of his claim due to the absence of any official announcement on the GWR website.

Many Ghanaians however contended that since GWR has not officially recognized this accomplishment on their platform, Chef Smith’s assertion may be unfounded.

Amidst the uproar caused by this claim, TV3 Ghana, a subsidiary of Media General, reached out to GWR to verify Chef Smith’s statement.

In a message sent directly to TV3 through X, GWR confirmed that the current record holder for the longest individual cooking session is still Alan Fisher from Ireland.

GWR clarified that Chef Smith does not possess the title of the longest cooking marathon and has not been granted any official certificate.

Afia weighed in on the forgoing by berating Chef Smith for the controversy surrounding his recent actions, which have caused a stir on social media and entertainment news platforms.

Afia inquired about the nature of his communication with the organizers before declaring himself the undisputed title holder of the GWR Cook-a-thon when there was nothing thereof.

“You have embarrassed Ghanaians because Guinness World Records stated they have no record of you or your claim.

“What communication did you receive from them that you have yet to disclose? What documentation did Guinness provide that you cannot produce to this day?

“What offense have we committed for you to disgrace the entire nation like this?” Afia ‘barked.’
