Prophet J.Y. Adu has provided his perspective on the marital situation involving veteran singer Yaw Sarpong and his estranged wife Maame Penamang.
The head and founder of New Jerusalem Chapel in Kumasi, where Yaw Sarpong has sought solace and healing for his prolonged illness, disclosed on Neat FM that the singer’s children took possession of the car gifted to him by one Nana Kobo.
According to him, Nana Kobo had generously bought a car for Yaw Sarpong to facilitate his musical events and travels after his previous car was damaged in an accident. However, his children decided to give the car to their mother instead.
Prophet J.Y. Adu expressed his concern about Yaw Sarpong’s reliance on taxis for transportation, particularly considering his health condition.
He mentioned that Maame Pinamang, now the owner of the car, uses it for funerals activities and errands.
“A physician friend conducted a medical examination on him and recommended occasional medical check-ups. Tiwaa accompanies him [Yaw Sapong] to the hospital. After Sarpong’s car was wrecked, they used taxis for musical concerts.
“Nana Kobo then bought a car for Yaw and Tiwaa to use for concerts, but the children gave it to their mother, who used it for funerals and errands, leaving them to use taxis for hospital visits,” the prophet explained during an interview with Ola Michael.
Furthermore, Prophet J.Y. Adu emphasized that Yaw Sarpong is under his supervision due to the spiritual nature of his illness, which has proven to be resistant to medical treatment.
