Yaa Pono has revealed how his beef with Shatta Wale started during an interview on Kwaku Manu’s Aggressive show.
Although the tension between the two former friends has diminished, Yaa Pono provided clarity on the situation when Kwaku Manu pressed for details about what transpired.
The Tema-based explained that both he and Wale were scheduled to perform at the same event in Cape Coast, but he felt disrespected by the event organizer in favour of Wale.
He mentioned that he had a prior commitment at a different location, and his dedication to his fans motivated him to fulfil that obligation, even going so far as to hire a car to reach the venue.
He said when he got to the venue, he was promised that he would take the stage immediately after Medikal, who was captivating the audience at the time.
However, this did not occur, as the organizer showed favouritism towards Wale, instructing Pono not to park in a specific area while allowing Wale to do so.
Later, Pono revealed that he introduced a new catchphrase (Say Fi) to promote his brand, only for Shatta Wale to go live on Facebook and suggest that the phrase was a veiled jab at him.
This revealtion comes days after Yaa Pono, recognized for his love of feuds in the industry, has posted a cryptic message that sparked a new discussion in the entertainment news in Ghana and on various social media platforms.
In his post, Yaa Pono referred to himself as a dragon, stating that he had been asleep for a while and had let other animals misbehave.
This post comes shortly after his long-time rival Shatta Wale performed the song ‘Say Fi’ during his Pent Hall Week artiste night. The song was a diss track aimed at Yaa Pono over seven years ago during the height of his ongoing feud with Shatta Wale.
As a result, fans eagerly await another showdown between the two artists, which will undoubtedly give them plenty to discuss in the gossip columns.
The controversial rapper posted: “Na Aboa no Ada .. the dragon was asleep. ?????44??”
