In a recent social media post, renowned YouTuber Wode Maya expressed deep disappointment with the current state of Ghana and its democracy.
He lamented that individual rights are increasingly being curtailed, making it difficult for citizens to express their grievances regarding pressing national issues.
“This is Not The Same Ghana We Know! #FreetheCitizens,” he stated, highlighting a sense of frustration among Ghanaians who feel their voices are being silenced.
Wode Maya’s comments drew a sharp response from Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme.
Nkansah pointed out a parallel situation in Kenya, suggesting that protests in Ghana were being treated similarly, where demonstrators were arrested for creating disturbances.
His comment implied that Wode Maya’s critique might overlook the complexities of maintaining order during protests.
Wode Maya did not hold back in his reply, suggesting that he was surprised by the nature of Nkansah’s response, particularly given the content of his profile picture.
“Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, I was definitely not expecting a wise comment from you considering your cover photo!” Wode Maya retorted.
