The success of Kese follows closely behind Wizkid’s recent release, Piece of My Heart, a collaboration with American R&B artist Brent Faiyaz.
That track also made a powerful debut, achieving over one million streams on Spotify within a day of its release.
Together, the two songs have dominated streaming charts, with the latest data from Chart Data confirming that Kese and Piece of My Heart occupy the top two spots for the highest-streamed songs in Nigeria on their debut dates.
Wizkid’s response to the overwhelming support was simple yet heartfelt, as he shared on social media: “Grateful for all the love on #Morayo. This is just the beginning.”
Adding to the current buzz is Asake’s Grammy-nominated track MMS from his album Lungu Boy, which features Wizkid.
