Renowned Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredyma, has advised Stonebwoy to carefully consider Shatta Wale’s suggestion for a clash to establish who truly deserves the title of Dancehall King.
In an interview with Prince Benjamin (PB) on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital on Saturday, August 31, 2024, Fredyma emphasized that both artists and their fans should transcend their rivalry and focus on monetizing the opportunity presented.
He contended that both stars possess the potential to generate significant income from Wale’s proposal, encouraging both sides to capitalize on this situation.
“If they take advantage of the opportunity available, a lot of people will go for the programme, and it would be a huge success,” Fredyma said.
Speaking further, the sound veteran sound engineer said;
“This is showbiz. Let’s not only think about the show or entertainment part but also consider the business aspect,” Fredyma said.
“I’m telling you, if these two want to collaborate and do this show, they’ll make so much money,” he added.
“It’s a business strategy. They should use a healthy beef to project themselves and the country,” taking advantage of the fact that “a lot of people will be coming into the country for the Christmas holidays.”
Fredyma stated that the competition between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale stemmed not from genuine animosity, but rather from a desire for attention.
He said that looking at the pedigree and exploits of both Reggae/Dancehall artistes in recent times, “if they stage this event, it will be massive at the stadium.”
“They will fill the venue, they will make money – they could charge GH¢50 – people will go. But there should be a tie, and we’ll give them both a plaque each. The youth of today look up to them.”
“They are both assets to the nation,” he eulogized. “If they will be strategic, put their egos aside, and do business, they’ll go far.”
