Why On-Screen Kisses Aren’t What They Seem- Nadia Buari

Despite a career packed with romantic roles and countless on-screen kisses, Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari recently made a surprising revelation: those kisses, however passionate they appear, are purely make-believe.

Known for bringing chemistry to life alongside many of Nollywood’s top actors, Buari clarified that her steamy scenes in films like Beyonce & Rihanna, Hot Romance, and The Game are purely fictional, crafted for the characters she plays and not reflective of any real feelings.

“They’re not real,” Buari disclosed in an interview with TV3. “It is make-believe. Yes, we’re really kissing, but it’s only real for the characters, not for the actors.

There are no feelings involved.” She emphasized that her focus is entirely on the storyline, ensuring that each scene appears authentic without personal emotions coming into play.

Over the years, Buari has shared the screen with prominent actors, creating romantic on-screen dynamics with figures like Jim Iyke, Majid Michel, and Ramsey Nouah.

Her character portrayals have convinced audiences of her characters’ connections, from the thrilling romance in Hot Romance to the dramatic intensity in Beyonce & Rihanna.

Buari reflected on the challenges of making these moments convincing, especially with an entire production crew watching. “Convincing an audience of emotions that aren’t truly there is one of the hardest aspects of acting. It requires total focus on the character,” she shared.

Returning to the screen with Forever in a Night, directed by Jameel Buari and produced by John N. Okwugo, Buari’s comeback premieres on November 9, 2024, at Accra Mall and West Hills Mall.

Fans eagerly await her return, with Forever in a Night promising a fresh chapter in Buari’s career as she steps back into the limelight, continuing to breathe life into stories while keeping the reality firmly off-camera.
