The Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale, has ridiculed the attorney representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding disagreements in the aggregation of results in disputed constituencies.
This is on the heels of the Accra High Court striking down the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) preliminary objection, clearing the way for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to press forward with their case demanding the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate and declare results from four contentious constituencies.
The disputed constituencies—Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South—have become the epicentre of a political tug-of-war, with both parties staking claims to the outcomes.
Wednesday’s session set the stage for a heated debate as the NPP argued that the EC must fulfil its constitutional mandate.
Lawyers for the NPP, in a fiery presentation, alleged that Malik Basintale, a representative of the NDC, had pressured EC officials to tilt the results in favour of NDC candidates.
The accusation drew sharp reactions, particularly from Basintale himself, who didn’t hold back when responding online.
Desperation knows no bounds. The NPP’s claims are pure fiction, and the truth will always triumph, Basintale suggested.
The court’s decision to entertain the NPP’s request raises the stakes in this electoral dispute, leaving the EC in the crosshairs of a legal and political showdown.
Sharing the new update, Malik Basintale wrote;
- NPP lawyer: Basintale was chaotic at collation center and forced EC officers to declare results under duress…
- Edudzi: show us your evidence…..
- EC lawyer: watch the video…..
- Court registrar plays video…
- Judge and entire court watches video quietly….
- Edudzi: Ah, But I can’t see Basintale being chaotic or forcing any EC officer to declare results…..
- NPP Lawyer: But he is singing Revo..Revo…Revoooolution…
Judge: Mtcheeeew….Judgment on Saturday”
