Why Is It a Publicity Stunt When I Leave? That’s the Issue- Cardi B Responds to Breakup Rumors

In a fiery Instagram Live session, Cardi B has addressed the rumours surrounding her recent breakup with rapper Offset, insisting that her separation is not a publicity stunt.

The Grammy-winning artist expressed her frustrations with those who claim her split is a calculated move to promote her new album, asserting that her focus is on her children rather than her public image.

“Do you really think that my baby dad is going to be like, ‘Yeah, do that. I’m gonna sacrifice my career that I worked so hard for, for your [stuff]?’” she questioned, highlighting the unrealistic expectations that some have regarding her relationship dynamics.

Cardi emphasized the importance of being realistic about the complexities of co-parenting and the sacrifices involved.

The rapper continued to discuss the financial responsibilities of raising her children, stating, “And also, I don’t really want to hurt my baby father’s career. I have a nanny. The nanny’s $700 an hour. Count that up and see how much. And that’s for one baby.”

Cardi noted the significant costs associated with childcare, including her children’s education, which amounts to $45,000 a year for each child, indicating that managing these expenses is a shared responsibility.

“I don’t want my baby daddy to go broke or nothing,” Cardi asserted, emphasizing her desire to maintain a cooperative parenting relationship. “Guess who helps over here? You can leave, but you gonna help with these muthafucking kids.”

Cardi also addressed the double standards she perceives in public reactions to her relationship.

“Why is it when I separate myself from my baby father, it’s a publicity stunt, but every single time that the n-gga was doing him and y’all wanted to throw it in my face, it wasn’t a publicity stunt?” she challenged, pointing out the hypocrisy in how her breakup is scrutinized compared to Offset’s past actions.

“Y’all just mad that you can’t throw a n-gga’s [cheating] in my face anymore. That’s the issue,” she added, underlining the frustration she feels over the public’s perception of her personal life.
