Efia Odo has opened up to her fans about her spiritual journey and the reasons behind her decision to leave Christianity at one point.
The conversation was sparked when she stepped forward to confront women participating in the new Kiki Challenge.
Fans were surprised that she chose to defend the church and Christendom, considering that she is not typically seen as a Christian due to her choice of clothing and various controversies online.
At this point, Efia shared some insight into her religious upbringing, mentioning that she comes from a Christian family.
She explained that she had worshipped Jesus her whole life, but noticed certain discrepancies within the church, which led her to seek enlightenment to better serve God.
However, after wandering for years, she realized that she felt empty without Jesus and has now fully surrendered her life to him once again. This is why she took a strong stance against the ongoing Kiki Challenge.
Taking to her X platform, Efia wrote;
“I was born in a Christian home, I worshipped Jesus all my life. Yes at one point I wanted to find God on my own and ran away from the church, I felt empty when I stopped worshipping Christ. Now I’m back in Christ and no one can tell me otherwise. If you think I’m brainwashed then let me be, I don’t need to be saved.”
The Kiki challenge involves ladies posing as church attendees or pretending to pray, only to transition into provocative outfits and dance moves.
Originally centred around the song In My Feelings by Drake, the challenge has now taken on different forms, including imitating religious figures and settings.
As a result, it has sparked controversy and generated mixed reactions on social media and other entertainment news platforms.
