Peruzzi has acknowledged that he had the potential to resolve the long-standing feud between Afrobeats sensations Davido and Burna Boy, but unfortunately, he was unable to bring the two of them together.
He emphasized that the bond between the two artistes runs deep, surpassing what most people perceive, which makes it difficult for him to intervene. Furthermore, Peruzzi clarified that his initial reluctance to get involved stemmed from two reasons.
Firstly, he acknowledged that he is older than both Davido and Burna Boy, which may have influenced his decision to stay out of their dispute. Secondly, he emphasized that he has never been one to blindly agree with anyone, highlighting his independent nature.
Despite a collaboration issue surrounding Burna Boy’s song, “Pull Up,” Peruzzi assured that he maintains a positive working relationship with the self-proclaimed African Giant. He expressed his belief that Davido and Burna Boy would eventually resolve their differences without external interference.
In the interview, Peruzzi also revealed that he had written “Pull Up” and was supposed to feature on the track, but Burna Boy released it without informing him.
However, Peruzzi emphasized that there is no animosity between them and they remain on good terms. He attributed the incident to a normal occurrence within the industry at that time.
Motolani asked; “Did any of the funny energy between him [Burna] and David affect you guys relationship?”
In response, Peruzzi said; “No, it never did. First of all I am older than both of them, ad I have never been a rubbish guy to anybody, I have never been a yes man. I will always yarn you how things…Because even when they were quarreling [chuckles]. I didn’t try to settle it because it was deeper than normal. You know they are brothers now. They will still settle don’t worry.”
