Why I Closed My Kelewele Joint At East Legon – Sista Afia

During an interview shared on Zionfelix’s Instagram page, Sista Afia disclosed the reason behind the closure of her kelewele joint at East Legon.

Sista’s Afia business came to light during her feud with Efia Odo, who claimed that Sista Afia couldn’t handle her business, leading to its shutdown.

Sista Afia clarified that her public image was too intertwined with her business, which ultimately hurt its success.

“Everyone saw that the business belonged to me. But as an artiste, I saw that if I had a business, it was best to keep it private,” she said.

She clarified that the closure was not due to financial reasons but she wanted a change of venue.

“It wasn’t about the money; I just needed a new location. The place I was at first was just a street-side stand, but now I have a shop,” she added.

Sista Afia also mentioned that she currently runs two additional businesses, one in Accra and the other in Kumasi.

She emphasized the significance of carefully managing all aspects of the business, particularly the financial aspect, to address the challenges of being a celebrity entrepreneur.

“It’s not easy to manage a business. You just have to make sure you pay attention to the business. If you don’t mind it, it will collapse.

“That’s why I am always keeping an eye on my business; I pay close attention to everything, especially the money,” she stated.

This development comes days after Sista Afia shed more light on her ongoing feud with Efia Odo, emphasizing that she feels justified in confronting her due to Odo’s disrespectful behaviour.

During her appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz, Afia addressed questions about their long-standing conflict.

Afia told MzGee that she views Efia Odo as disrespectful, pointing out her tendency to be aggressive at the slightest provocation.

She also accused Odo of being a bully, stating that she would not stand by while Odo criticised her appearance, a tactic frequently used by Odo in their exchanges.
