Doyinsola David, also known as Doyin from Big Brother Naija, has discussed why a brand terminated her contract due to an interview she gave.
During an episode of the CreativiTEA podcast with Lynda, Doyin revealed that she made certain statements in the interview that the brand, for which she was an ambassador, did not approve, leading to her dismissal.
She acknowledged that the brand’s decision was justified and expressed no resentment towards them. Additionally, Doyin mentioned that the company, whose identity she chose not to reveal, also requested a refund of the payment she received for the endorsement deal.
She said; “There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”
In another part of the interview, Doyin admitted that her personality during the ‘Level Up’ edition in 2022 was a ‘fake’ one.
The podcaster revealed that upon exiting the reality show, she despised the facade of being a pacifist, as it falsely portrayed her as a mature individual. Doyin clarified that this persona did not align with her true nature, as she actually enjoys confrontation, contrary to what viewers perceived.
She said; “My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight”.
