Wendy Shay has disclosed that the song Survivor from her impressive collection made her a lot of money.
The Afrobeats star, who rose to fame after taking over from Ebony at Bullet’s Rufftown Records, emphasized in a recent interview that Survivor has outperformed all her other potentially award-winning songs in terms of revenue.
She also admitted that the song is based on her personal experience of heartbreak from a past relationship.
Wendy Shay explained that she prioritized her professional career over her romantic relationship, leading to its downfall.

Despite her status as a celebrity, she emphasized that heartbreak affects everyone equally, stating that “Broken heart does not care if you’re a celebrity or not. It is clear a no respecter of person”.
“I am free now and I think it is one of the best decisions I took. Sometimes it is good to leave some people. I make a lot of money now and I am now a global artiste.
“When you go to South Africa, I am very big there. Even though I was big in New Zealand and Figi Island, Survivor is one of the songs I’ve made huge cash from,” she told Empress Gifty on UTV as monitored by GhanaStreetJournal.
