We Were Sent for Placement, But the CEO Sped Off – Oheneba Boamah

Popular broadcast journalist and staunch NDC supporter Oheneba Boamah, has raised concerns about internal party appointments within the Forestry Commission, accusing some party bigwigs of frustrating his efforts to secure a position.

Speaking on the Gumbe show, he detailed his unsuccessful attempt to be placed as a Public Relations Officer (PRO) at the Commission, despite alleged endorsements from top NDC officials.

Recounting his ordeal, Boamah explained that he and a colleague had initially reached out to Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for assistance in securing a position at the administration of the Forestry Commission.

“We wanted to be placed at the administration of the Forestry Commission. So, we called Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah. He was out of the country. So, he said, he will meet us on his return and indeed he met us in his office.

“He called the Forestry Commission’s office and spoke to the head of HR and asked us to go see him.”

Boamah further revealed that Buah personally reached out to the CEO of the Forestry Commission, Dr. Hugh Brown, to facilitate their placement.

“He first called the HR and followed up with a call to the CEO Dr Hugh Brown and told him that he has sent two party faithful to him. They’ve worked tirelessly for the party so they’re coming for placement as PROs at the commission.”

However, despite these efforts, things did not go as expected when they visited the Forestry Commission.

“So, we went to the head of Human Resources. The man is so good. In fact, other party members came to see him while we were there. Then we went to see the CEO. We sat there for hours but we were told he was in a meeting.

“On his return to the office he was swarmed by officers who had come to present reports and documents so we patiently waited outside. When he was done engaging all the people, he briefly stepped out to look around, headed straight to his car and sped off.”

Boamah also claimed that his pursuit of the position has put him in the crosshairs of some influential figures within the party, with threats allegedly being issued against him.

“Later I heard that one female party bigwig has warned that if the position of Dr Brown is threatened because of me, I would regret what she would do to me.”
