Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan took to social media to celebrate his close friend, comedian and actor Funny Face, on his 43rd birthday, which falls on October 1st.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Gyan expressed his joy and appreciation for the journey they have both been through, acknowledging the personal battles Funny Face has faced over the years.
“Somebody help me wish the man on a mission @funnyfacegh a very big happy birthday,” Gyan began, addressing his followers and calling for collective recognition of Funny Face’s resilience and growth.
He continued, reflecting on the challenges they have overcome together: “We really fought a good fight behind the scenes, and here we are now.”
The football star also took a moment to thank his older brother, Baffour Gyan, for his support during the tough times Funny Face endured, as well as Togolese international footballer Emmanuel Adebayor, who has famously stood by the comedian through his struggles.
“Big thank you to my lovely brother Baffour Gyan who also fought well to make this happen. Lastly, to my brother from another mother, @e_adebayor, for accepting to be there for our brother,” Gyan added, highlighting the team effort that went into helping Funny Face overcome his personal issues.
Gyan’s post emphasized the deep bond he shares with Funny Face and their mutual friends. Adebayor, known for his public show of support for the comedian during his mental health challenges, has been a consistent figure in Funny Face’s life, extending his hand of friendship and guidance.
In closing, Gyan wished his friend a joyous birthday: “Happy Birthday once again, my brother. Enjoy your day.”
Funny Face, the popular Ghanaian comedian, has recently stirred controversy on social media with his erratic behaviour and insults directed at various celebrities.
This comes amidst ongoing concerns about his mental health, which he has publicly battled for some time.
After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder last year, Funny Face underwent rehabilitation and was thought to be on the path to recovery. However, his recent actions suggest he may still be struggling.
In a series of videos, he was seen smoking heavily while making accusations against his ex-partner, Vanessa, and others in the entertainment industry, including comedian Warris.
His claims about Vanessa allegedly having an affair with Warris have raised eyebrows, especially given his history of erratic behaviour.
