During an interview on Joy Prime, emerging rapper Phrimpong reached his breaking point with the host’s line of questioning, which he felt was inappropriate.
According to the report, entertainment pundit Alexander Fifi Abaka asked Phrimpong about a past incident which he found very disrespectful.
Despite Phrimpong’s request to change the topic, the host continued, leading the rapper to pour a drink on him.
Fifi Abaka referenced a rap battle from 2018, suggesting Phrimpong switched to singing after facing setbacks in the rap scene.
This offended Phrimpong, especially when the pundit made derogatory remarks about his grandmother, causing tension and laughter from the host.
The musician repeatedly asked Fifi Abaka to stop, but when he didn’t, Phrimpong retaliated by pouring his drink on him and leaving the show in frustration.
Phrimpong has, however, apologised for his conduct. In a statement issued on his Instagram page, he said:
“I am writing to extend my sincerest apologies for my behavior during the recent episode of “On A More Serious Note Show” on Joy Prime TV. My actions were unprofessional and disrespectful, and I deeply regret any inconvenience and discomfort caused to the panel, the show’s hosts, and the viewers.
“Joy Prime TV and the Multimedia Group have been invaluable in supporting my career over the years, and I am profoundly grateful for the platform you have provided me. I understand that my conduct not only reflected poorly on myself but also disrespected the trust and support you have extended to me. Please know that I take full responsibility for my actions.
“I am committed to ensuring that such an incident never occurs again, and I am taking steps to better manage my conduct in future engagements.
“Once again, I am truly sorry for my misconduct and any negative impact it may have had on the esteemed reputation of Joy Prime TV and the Multimedia Group.
“I hope to continue our positive relationship and work together in the future. Sincerely. Phrimpong”
