Black Sherif was awarded the prestigious Best International Flow accolade at the recently concluded 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, a remarkable achievement that has garnered significant attention online.
The competition was fierce, with nine highly talented rappers, including Aka and K.O. from South Africa and Sampa The Great from Zimbabwe, vying for the coveted title.
However, Black Sherif emerged victorious, firmly establishing his position on the global stage. During his acceptance speech, the ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ hitmaker shared that he had dreamt of winning the award for some time, a testament to his unwavering determination and focus.
He also extended an invitation to all present to explore their African roots, where they are revered as royalty. This latest accomplishment further cements Black Sherif’s credibility in the music industry, solidifying his soaring brand despite his relatively short tenure in the industry.
“I saw this in my sleep every night. I started making music four years ago in a small city in Ghana called Konongo Zongo and there was no way nobody was going to convince me that I wouldn’t be here, that my music wasn’t going global. Thank you so much BET, thank you to God, thank you to my mum, thank you to my dad, and thank you to my team. I love you guys so much and to each and every one of you here, Remember you are kings and queens back home, welcome back home.”
