Ghana’s Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has shared a heartfelt message with the Muslim community as they celebrate Eid Mubarak, marking her first public statement since reports emerged about her recent hospitalization.

In a message that highlights unity and gratitude, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed appreciation for the contributions of Ghana’s Muslim community.

“On this blessed occasion, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families. Your dedication, values, and contributions enrich our nation and the world. May this celebration bring you joy, peace, and renewed strength,” she stated.

Her message also extended gratitude to those who have sent her well wishes over the past few days. “Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” she added.

The Vice President was reportedly taken ill after work on March 28 and received urgent medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).

While discussions continue regarding the possibility of seeking further medical treatment abroad, her Eid message has reassured many that she remains in high spirits.
