Gospel artiste Evans Scott is optimistic about the growing impact of the genre in Ghana and across Africa.
In an interview with Joy News, the Ghaiana Urban Gospel specialist shared his enthusiasm about the progress of urban gospel music, noting that it is doing “amazingly” well.
He pointed to the success of Nigerian artist Prince Emmanuel, who recently hosted an Afro-Urban gospel concert in Nigeria that drew 11,000 young attendees.
“Prince Emmanuel has gained a lot of ground in Nigeria,” Scott said, highlighting how the artist’s influence in the industry has helped make such events a reality.
While Scott is encouraged by the success of artists like Prince Emmanuel, he acknowledged that urban gospel is still in its developmental stages in Ghana.
“We are still putting the numbers together, gathering the people, and creating the community for the culture we stand for,” he stated.
Despite the challenges, Scott remains confident that urban gospel music will continue to thrive, driven by the passion and commitment of artists and fans alike.
The future of the genre looks promising, with a growing audience in Ghana and beyond as more people are drawn to its powerful message.
