It’s a triumphant return to New York for UK-based Ghanaian artist Black Kat GH—but this time, not as a performer, but as an honoree.

The 14th Annual 3G Media Awards & Celebrity Bash, set to take place in New York in 2025, will celebrate outstanding personalities from across the globe. Among this year’s honorees is Black Kat GH, who has been nominated as 3G UK-Based Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year 2025 in the category of Excellence in Music.

Organizers praised his passion, stage energy, and lasting impact on the youth through positive music. His electrifying performance at last year’s 13th edition left fans in awe, setting the stage for this year’s recognition.

The nomination letter highlighted:

“We have monitored your outstanding contribution to Hiplife and Hip-Hop music. With your famous stage name, Black Kat GH, you have built a huge following and influenced the youth positively through your music. As a role model, you continue to transform lives with your craft.”

A Rich Musical Journey

Born Albert Kweku Tuffour in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Black Kat GH has steadily built a reputation as one of the most versatile Ghanaian acts of his generation. A proud alumnus of Kumasi High School and Kumasi Polytechnic, he blends hip hop, hiplife, highlife, afrobeats, reggae, and dancehall into a signature sound that resonates across Ghana, the UK, and beyond.

He has released several acclaimed albums, including The Boom Boom Boom, Social Conqueror, and Self Fulfilling Prophecy. His timeless tracks “Apem Beba” and “Yenimko” have become cultural anthems, celebrating Ashanti pride and resilience. Over the years, he has collaborated with some of Ghana’s finest talents such as Kwabena Kwabena, Flowking Stone, Choirmaster, Kwaw Kese, Yaa Pono, KK Fosu, Dr Cryme, and Ball J.

In 2023, his track “So Much Love” featuring Kwabena Kwabena won Best UK-Based Highlife Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards UK, with multiple other nominations cementing his consistency as an artist. His 2024 “Alright” EP and his single “Outside” featuring Joint 77 have further expanded his global reach.

Honoring Global Excellence

The 3G Awards will also honor notable figures such as peace and security expert Farouk Al-Wahab, humanitarian and prophet Eric Boahen-Uche, media legend Kofi Asare Brako (Abatay), and cultural icon Alhassan Wuza, among others.

For Black Kat GH, the honor is not just about personal recognition—it is about representing Ghana, his Ashanti heritage, and the power of music to inspire.

As he takes the stage in New York, Black Kat GH stands tall as both a global Ghanaian star and a proud cultural ambassador, using his artistry to uplift and unite audiences around the world.
