South African singer Tyla has unveiled her latest single, “Tears”, a heartfelt, acoustic guitar-driven ballad that resonates deeply with anyone navigating challenging times.
Released on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the song is part of Coke Studio 2024 and was produced by the renowned production duo Stargate.
In “Tears,” Tyla offers a message of unwavering support and compassion, with poignant lyrics such as, “I’m a river you can’t float in / I would never let you drown / When your eyes turn into oceans / I’ll be there before the first drop hits the ground.” The single also continues her aquatic theme, following her breakout hit “Water.”
Tyla, who recently won three awards at the 2024 MTV EMAs, is set to perform “Tears” live for the first time during a special hometown concert in Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 4, 2024. The event, a collaboration between Coke Studio and Spotify, will also be available to fans worldwide through a global livestream.
