Popular Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage has stated that she narrowly escaped being harmed after her home security was broken into.
This follows rumours that went viral on Friday claiming that a group of men attempted to kidnap the female singer.
The management team for musician Tiwa Savage issued a statement via her Instagram account, acknowledging that her house had been broken into but not specifying the motive of the intruders.
“Following recent reports online, we can confirm that on Thursday 13th April 2023 there was a major security breach at the residence of musician Tiwa Savage.
“A number of suspects were caught and are currently being held under investigation at Alagbon Police Station, Ikoyi. Ms Savage and her family are safe and well.” the official statement reads.
Meanwhile, Nigerian writer Kemi Olunloyo and several other media sources have reported that the singer’s new driver is suspected of sharing information about her whereabouts with his co-conspirators.
According to reports, the suspects’ kidnapping attempt on Tiwa Savage failed and they were later apprehended and handed over to the authorities.
