Okyeame Kwame has shared an interesting revelation on why he decided to become a vegetarian in his latest interview on 3FM.
Kwame asserts that he has been a vegetarian for six years and a vegan for two years when he spoke to Giovani Caleb recently.
On why he charted this new path, the veteran rapper said he realized that animals experience emotions in a similar way to humans. He also added that animals also do not want to die and be consumed and this greatly altered his perspective.
“One day, I came to the realization that my life is the most important thing to me, and I noticed that the cow felt the same way. The ant has the same sentiment. If I value my life and want to see my children develop, and if the cow and the chicken share these values, then I shouldn’t eat them. I halted,” he told Giovani.
He added; “I am a vegan, yes. “Apart from honey, I don’t eat meat or anything else made from animals,” Okyeame Kwame stated. He also described how he declined a chance to operate a fish farm since his beliefs forbade him from raising fish for eating.
