The downfall of hiplife star Okomfour Kwadee has long been a topic of discussion, with many speculating on what led to his struggles.

Now, his mother has spoken out, revealing that those who were supposed to guide his career were, in fact, the ones who exploited him.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz, she pointed fingers at Kwadee’s former managers, accusing them of using him for financial gain while neglecting his well-being.

“His managers are the reason why he turned out the way he did. They did not care about his health and sanity but rather about their money. They were making money off him while he came home with nothing.”

Her words paint a grim picture of the music industry, where many talented artists are taken advantage of by those entrusted with their careers.

Kwadee, once a household name known for his distinct storytelling and cultural depth, saw his career take a downward spiral, with reports of mental health struggles dominating conversations about him in recent years.

His mother made it clear that she had to step in when she realized how much damage had been done. “I know a musician who suffered a similar fate and stopped singing, and he feeds himself, so why can’t my son do the same?

I realized the managers were taking advantage of him, so I stopped him from singing so that he works at getting well, and then he can really choose what he wants.”
