The Youth Shifted Away From Us – Afenyo-Markin Admits NPP’s Decline

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has acknowledged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost a significant portion of the youth and middle-class vote in the 2024 elections.

“The youth shifted away from us. The DDEP thing did not help us because our base, the middle class, lost investments. Those who were not happy with us decided they will not vote for the NDC, so they decided not to vote at all,” he said as quoted by MyNewsGh.

Afenyo-Markin stressed that the party base must be reactivated and urged members to hold the National Democratic Congress (NDC) accountable as the new ruling party.

He further hinted at a rebranding strategy to restore the NPP’s appeal and bring the party back to its former strength.
