Ghanaian rapper Eno Barony has shared her perspective on the music industry, advocating for a shift in how success is measured for artistes.
Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, she emphasized that awards, while significant, should not be the ultimate standard for evaluating an artiste’s impact.
“I’ve seen artistes who haven’t won awards, but their music has transformed lives, sparked meaningful conversations, and brought people together. That, to me, is the true essence of success,” she said.

Eno further highlighted a pressing challenge faced by many creatives in the industry. “I believe artistes, in general, sometimes face the issue of not being recognized enough for their contributions.
It’s as if without being an award winner, you have no talent,” she remarked.
Her comments underscore the importance of acknowledging artistes for their ability to inspire, connect, and provoke thought, even in the absence of accolades.
She added, “That is why I believe there should be an all-inclusive approach to recognizing their efforts.”
