Mzbel has expressed her concern about the high cost of living in Ghana, citing an incident where she purchased a single tomato for GHC5.00
Additionally, the legendary Hiplife artist disclosed that she spends a staggering ghc200 on electricity each day.
The ’16-year-old’ singer, recounted how she wanted to fry eggs for her son but was shocked when her maid returned with just one small tomato for the hefty price.
In frustration, Mzbel took to social media to share a video of the tomato, questioning the current state of the country under the present administration.
Furthermore, she mentioned that the overwhelming stress she faces is one of the reasons why she is unable to interact with her fans on social media these days.
She posted on her IG platform saying, “A single tomato now costs five cedis. I simply wanted to prepare an egg for my child, but when I sent my staff to purchase tomatoes, she returned with just one, priced at five cedis. Where is our nation heading?
“Every day, I spend 200 cedis on electricity, only for it to barely last 24 hours. Are we to resign ourselves to despair? The stress is overwhelming, truly overwhelming. I find myself unable to engage on social media these days.”
