President John Dramani Mahama has painted a bleak picture of Ghana’s current state, declaring that the country is in crisis.
Delivering his first State of the Nation Address in his second term before Parliament on Thursday, February 27, Mahama did not hold back on the challenges facing the nation.
“Mr. Speaker, it is not my style to lament and shift blame when confronted with challenges,” he stated. “I have therefore not come here to lament on the state of our country, though there is much to lament about.”
Despite his reluctance to dwell on complaints, Mahama was unequivocal in his assessment of Ghana’s condition.
“I am sad to report that the state of our nation is not good,” he admitted, signaling deep concerns about the country’s economic and social standing.
