Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder of the International God’s Way Church, known for his controversial spiritual prophecies, has announced his decision not to participate in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Angel Obinim, as he is popularly called, shared his thoughts on the current political landscape and his reasons for abstaining from voting in a recent address to his congregation.

“Both political parties have been in power for 16 years. I think it would be prudent for us to assess which party has performed better and vote accordingly,” Obinim began, acknowledging the two dominant parties that have alternated control over the nation’s leadership.
He hinted at the need for voters to carefully evaluate the track records of these parties before making their decisions at the ballot box.
However, despite his call for discernment, Obinim has chosen to refrain from casting his vote. The reason? A mix of frustration with the political process and disillusionment with the role of certain religious leaders in predicting election outcomes.
“Because of these prophecies, I will not vote,” he added.
Obinim’s critique was directed towards fellow pastors who, in recent months, have made bold prophecies about which party will emerge victorious in the elections.
These declarations, often presented as divine revelations, have, according to Obinim, clouded the judgment of the electorate and created confusion among Ghanaians.
“Some of these pastors have problems. Once they declare the victory of these political parties, they should also tell us not to vote. They are confused, and I must say it,” Obinim stated.

For the outspoken preacher, the increasing reliance on prophecies to forecast political outcomes has led to a distorted democratic process.
He questioned the credibility of these spiritual leaders and expressed concern over the influence they wield over the voting population.
By making such predictions, Obinim argued, these pastors inadvertently undermine the power of the people’s vote.
