Nigerian singer Teni has released her highly anticipated second album, “Tears of the Sun,” which features 16 tracks.
The album was released on November 17, 2023, under her newly established record label, Sugar Mummy Records.
In May 2023, Teni released the lead single from the album, “No Days Off,” which was well-received by fans and critics alike. This feel-good anthem has been a chart-topping success, approaching four million streams and earning a place on Rolling Stone’s Best Songs of 2023 list.
The album opens with “YBGFA (Young Black Girl From Africa),” an autobiographical track, offering a poignant tale of Teni’s roots set against delicate piano and sublime vocal melodies.
“Malaika,” track number 13 on the album, was released as a single on November 3 and chronicles the singer’s struggles away from the spotlight, showcasing Teni’s ability to infuse personal experiences into her music.
The album features collaborations with several artistes, including Tayc, Mádé Kut, and Odumodublvck
