Joe Frazier has highlighted the impact of technological advancements and distant platforms on the evolution of modern-day rappers.
The veteran Hiplife artist went on to discuss the disparity between the pioneers of the Hiplife genre and the emerging talents.
According to him, the challenging environment that once shaped credibility and integrity in the industry has now changed significantly.
“Those times, as I said earlier, whether you like it or not, you will learn. Because it was very difficult for you to get someone who is financially strong to support you.
“But today, it’s not like that. With technology and finances, anyone can come out and claim to be a rapper. He’s not going to learn,” he said, adding a new perspective to entertainment news in Ghana.
He mentioned the era when rappers such as Okyeame Kwame were prominent, emphasizing that the standards for rap and the learning process for rappers were much more demanding.
He recognized that although some up-and-coming rappers display potential, they cannot measure up to the experienced veterans in the field.
“Even though some of the new ones are good. However, comparing them to the big boys, I completely disagree,” he said during an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz.
