Burna Boy has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind, and his recent remarks have once again stirred up conversation.
In a social media post that quickly went viral, the Grammy-winning artist took aim at those in the entertainment industry and beyond who project fake lifestyles to impress others.
“If you ever lied about buying Sujimoto’s house in Banana when you only rented it, do better in 2025,” Burna Boy wrote on Instastory, referring to the luxurious Banana Island area in Lagos known for its upscale properties.
He continued, “If you ever lied about Elele’s house being yours, do better in 2025.”
His comments didn’t stop there. The “Last Last” hitmaker addressed individuals who flaunt expensive items that they don’t actually own, saying, “If you have an after-market rainbow Daytona, please stop telling people it’s real, do better in 2025.”
Burna’s words, which seem to target people who exaggerate or fabricate their wealth, come at a time when social media has become a platform for many to showcase their so-called lavish lifestyles, often leading to unrealistic standards and comparisons.
For the Afro-fusion star, it appears that the ongoing culture of deception has gone too far.
In his post, Burna Boy went further, suggesting that it should be “a criminal offense to tell as many lies as certain men.”
