Veteran Ghanaian singer Amandzeba recently visited the studios of YFM where he discussed his thoughts on contemporary musicians like Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, and other emerging artists.
Contextually, despite Stonebwoy’s decade-long career, Amandzeba considers him a ‘new cat’ due to his extensive thirty-five years in the music industry.
Amandzeba noted that Stonebwoy draws inspiration from him, with two of his songs indirectly sampling his (Amandzeba’s) work.
The Wo Gbe Jeke hitmaker expressed no concern over Stonebwoy not seeking permission before incorporating elements from his songs, emphasizing that it doesn’t bother him.
Additionally, Amandzeba advised Stonebwoy to embrace his African heritage and move away from using patois in his music, as he is not Jamaican.
