In an interview with TV3’s Berla Mundi, Stonebwoy disclosed his thoughts on Baba Sadiq’s support for King Promise prior to the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
Stonebwoy, who ultimately won the prestigious Artiste of the Year award, stated that Baba Sadiq’s efforts to promote King Promise were unsuccessful.
He indirectly mentioned that Baba Sadiq’s efforts to spread propaganda did not lead to any successful outcomes.
The Reggae/Dancehall specialist said he was not disappointed in what Sadiq is because, at the end of the day, the results proved Baba Sadiq’s view lacked credibility and remained a mere opinion.
The honcho of the Bhim Nation fraternity triumphed over King Promise, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, and Nacee to claim the coveted award.
“I was not disappointed [for him choosing King Promise]. Eventually, I think the results have thought him that he does not hold any water when it comes to the reality and it stays a s an opinion,” he said on Friday, June 7 in an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3.
Furthermore, Stonebwoy expressed his desire for the recognition and support received by himself and King Promise to be equally bestowed upon the other nominees within the same category.
“One thing I felt was like I wish the attention would be spread out across all the nominees because it was not only a Stonebwoy and King Promise thing.
“I felt that if the attention was extended to the other five or six nominees then it will now become a thing of fact. Limiting it to two artistes almost always takes away the fact that all nominees have worked and not just the two,” he said to Berla Mundi on Friday, June 7.
Ultimately, Stonebwoy believes the fans should not determine the top two contenders for the Artiste of the Year.
