Ohemaa Mercy has revealed that she occasionally listens to secular music despite her gospel music career.
She specifically cited Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata as artists whose music she appreciates, highlighting the depth and meaningfulness of their songs as the reason for her admiration.

This disclosure was made during an interview with DJ Slim on Hitz FM.
Additionally, she shared that she once incorporated Stonebwoy’s popular track ‘Tuff Seed’ into one of her sermons at church.
Her comment has added a new dimension to entertainment news in Ghana, sparking varied comments across some social media platforms.
Three years ago, during a discussion on a similar topic, Ohemaa Mercy mentioned that she would consider collaborating with a secular musician depending on their lifestyle.
Despite differing opinions within the industry on gospel artists working with secular musicians, Mercy emphasized that as long as the person’s lifestyle aligns with godly principles, she is open to collaboration.

“I think it’s the lifestyle. I have lots of friends that are secular musicians. But I’ll select them because I will love to be with positive people that have a lifestyle that speaks volumes.
And so if I will choose anyone, specifically secular musician, is the lifestyle that will draw me to do it,” she told JoyNews’ Becky.
