Grief, they say, is the price we pay for love. For celebrated Nollywood actress Stella Damasus, the weight of that grief hasn’t diminished even after two decades.

Marking 20 years since her husband, Jaiye Aboderin, passed away, Stella took to social media to share a deeply emotional tribute that reflected on love, loss, and resilience.

In a post on Instagram, Stella described how revisiting the place tied to Jaiye’s memory was both a heartbreaking and healing experience.

“Exactly 20 years ago today, my husband Jaiye Aboderin passed away. 20 years later, with his children grown enough to honour his legacy in the same place, we went back there,” she revealed.

The journey, she admitted, wasn’t easy, but it was filled with gratitude for the strength she and her family have found over the years. “It was not easy to get through this, but I am grateful to God for strength,” she wrote, also extending appreciation to loved ones who stood by her.

“Special thanks to my family and friends who joined us and those who couldn’t make it but prayed and called.”

Stella’s words carried a profound sense of hope, love, and faith. “It is well with us. Jaiye is forever in our hearts. May his soul continue to rest in peace.”
