Sorry Guys, But I Didn’t Want the Black Stars to Qualify Under Akufo-Addo – DKB Admits

Popular Ghanaian comedian DKB, born Derick Kobina Bonney, has made a shocking revelation about his past feelings toward the Black Stars, admitting that his frustration with the previous government led him to pray against the team’s success.

In a post on his X account on March 21, 2025, following the Black Stars’ emphatic victory against Chad in the World Cup qualifiers, DKB opened up about his deep resentment toward the then-NPP-led administration.

“I was so bitter with the previous government that I prayed vehemently against the Black Stars qualifying for the African Cup so that they wouldn’t have any football achievement to brag about,” he confessed.

He went on to apologize for his sentiments but emphasized that his frustration stemmed from how the government treated ordinary Ghanaians.

“Sorry guys, the pain in my heart was unbearable! You don’t care about us, you don’t deserve honour,” he added.
