Talented and versatile musician Sista Afia has spoken publicly about how her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal changed her perspective on relationships.

During an interview with Emelia Brobbey on Adom TV’s Okukuseku show, Sista Afia stated that she foolishly entered a relationship with the wrong person because she wanted to enjoy her youth and experience love to its fullest.

According to the “Carry Go” singer, her first warning sign was the fact that her boyfriend had a kid with another woman. She claims that because she was so enamoured with love, she disregarded the warnings and continued dating.

When she found out that her boyfriend had married another woman while they were still dating, her world turned upside down.

Though she kept some facts hidden, she did admit that the incident damaged her, especially since she had never imagined her long-time partner could be so cruel.

Sista Afia said she now approaches relationships with an open mind because of her own experiences. According to her, she has come to realise that having fewer expectations can result in fewer disappointments.

She urged females to be resilient and ready for the worst, so that when tragedy comes, they can pick themselves up and move on with their lives without dwelling on the past.
