Vibe has reported that American artist SZA will be stepping back from live performances following a hectic year.
The musician shared the news with her fans via social media, indicating a planned break but did not specify the duration of her time away from the stage.
“Yesterday was my last show for a while,” explained the 34-year-old in a post on X Monday (Aug 5). “Finally bout to get my life together thank u God.”
The announcement of relief follows the chart-topping artist’s performance on Sunday at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival.
Just a day earlier, she headlined the Lollapalooza event in Chicago. As reported by Rolling Stone, the Midwestern festival featured a sneak peek of her upcoming song, “Cry Baby.”
“This song is ‘Cry Baby.’ It’s not out, but it will be,” she announced. The Top Dawg Entertainment representative also sang “Snooze,” “Kill Bill,” “Love Galore,” “The Weekend,” and “Kiss Me More.”

SZA took the stage at the Glastonbury Festival 2024 in June. The record-setting artist has also been active with a 63-date global tour that ran from February 2023 to May 2024.
Despite this busy schedule, her website still lists two upcoming performances this fall. As of Tuesday morning, she is confirmed to perform at the Al Dana Amphitheatre in Bahrain on November 20, and at the Wireless Festival Middle East 2024 on November 23.
Fans of the New Jersey-born artist may appreciate her time away from live performances, as it allows her to focus more on her studio work.
Earlier this year, SZA released her latest single, “Saturn.” However, she has not released a full mixtape, EP, or album since her Grammy-winning project, SOS, in 2022.
