Days after her remarkable singathon attempt which garnered immense support from the entire country, Afua Asantewaa has officially presented her evidence of achievement to the officials of the Guinness World Record.

Asantewaa and her team submitted the video evidence for review and confirmation last Saturday. In an interview with Graphic Online, she expressed her optimism for a positive response in the upcoming days.

It may be recalled that Asantewaa sang continuously for an astonishing 126 hours and 52 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 105 hours set by Indian Sunil Waghmare in 2012.

Initially, she had advertised a 117-hour attempt when she commenced the attempt on December 23, 2023. However, she extended the marathon into the early hours of the sixth day before she concluded it.

She mentioned that she had already submitted several additional documents, such as her media appearances before the attempt. The evidence of the 126 hours and 52 minutes remained as the final requirement to be submitted.

In related news, Afua Asantewaa made the surprising revelation that Kuame Eugene is her ultimate celebrity crush.

She confessed that she found it extremely difficult to concentrate when Kuame Eugene made an appearance at Akwaaba village during his sing-a-thon quest a few days ago, where she was attempting to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.

According to Afua, the mere sight of ‘Rockstar’ affected her ability to recall the lyrics, especially when he came to show his support for her, adding to the number of other renowned celebrities and distinguished personalities who visited her.

During a recent interview with Joy Prime, Afua Asantewaa disclosed that her husband is well aware of her deep admiration for Kuami Eugene, which explains why she often performs most of his songs.

“I said that guy came and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.’ If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene.

“My husband knows so when he got there I said ‘Kuami you have worried me. You shouldn’t have come. I sang ‘Asuoden’ and you know his rap comes after. As I stood there, I did everything I couldn’t remember,” she said.
