Samini has asked Shatta Wale to shut up in a new Twitter post as he has no valuable contributions to make regarding the ongoing Play Ghana initiative, which Wale has adamantly refused to be a part of and has made derogatory comments about.
Shatta Wale, in an attempt to express his opposition to the campaign, tagged Samini and emphasized that the policy is impractical.
In reply, Samini clarified his stance but cautioned Wale to refrain from speaking if he had nothing constructive to contribute to their cause. It is worth noting that Samini’s message did not contain any offensive language, as evident from its tone.
“How can you say you deh ban foreign music. Eeiiiiiii… We know how to Ban papa. Small time dem go ban Foos for kantamanto,” Shatta Wale’s post on X read.
Another post on X read; “I just woke up to tell you ,you can’t fight foreign music .Their 10% music will over-shadow the whole Ghana. Country with so much jealousy when it’s not them on the frontline. You see how poverty deh worry your artiste with nonesense suggestion .It’s poverty my guy.”
Samini responded to Shatta Wale’s remarks by raising a point that “is it a bad thing for artists to advocate for more local content on the radio? He pointed out that Shatta Wale’s frustration stems from the fact that he was not the one who brought forth the idea.
