Ghanaian musician Mzbel has taken a swipe at counsellor and pastor Charlotte Oduro following reports of her marriage collapse, questioning how she could not keep her own home yet had the energy to fight a 10-year-old child over religious beliefs.

Expressing her long-standing frustration, Mzbel recalled how Charlotte Oduro harshly criticized her son, Okomfo Black, during a past controversy.

“When my son’s issue came up, she said she would fight for her God, but she couldn’t even fight for her own marriage,” Mzbel stated. “She was trying to fight a 10-year-old boy over some God.”

The singer found it absurd that Oduro, who often gives relationship and marriage advice, failed in her own union while taking a firm stance against a child.

“She calls herself a counsellor and a pastor, so I expected her to handle this situation differently. I was expecting her to say that the boy is young and should be cut some slack and that as he grows, he’ll come to understand,” Mzbel remarked.

Mzbel further criticized Oduro’s approach to marriage, saying she had long observed signs that her relationship was doomed.

“After she spoke against my son, I started paying closer attention to her. I was disappointed that some people actually go to her for advice. It was so obvious her marriage would fail. Every time she insulted her husband, she thought it was a joke,” she said.

According to Mzbel, Oduro’s failed marriage only proves that she was not in the position to judge others. “She hasn’t made marriage appealing for us unmarried ones. She hasn’t set a good example,” she added.
