Shatta Wale has criticized his mother for her recent statement about feeling neglected, stating that family matters should not be brought into the public domain.
The controversial musician also had strong words for those who have criticized him for not taking care of his mother, despite being one of the richest Ghanaian artists of his time.
This outburst comes shortly after Wale’s mother, Madam Elsie, was seen in a video claiming that her son has not been taking care of her for years and that the last time she had a one-on-one interaction with Shatta Wale was a decade ago.
She was head in a video saying, “Good evening Ghana, My name is Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, I am the biological mum of Shatta Wale.
“My son, since about ten or more years now, I haven’t spoken with him. He doesn’t know where I live, he doesn’t know what I eat. Now it has gotten to the extent that my health keeps dropping. I am seriously ill and not well at all. Sherita Mawusi is the one who takes me here and there.”
Responding to the issue on his favourite Facebook platform, Shatta Wale said;
“I’m very disappointed in my mother for publicly making those accusations against me. She has tarnished my name to my uncles and the rest of the family.
“She is bringing our issues to the public for me to be criticised. We don’t handle family issues like this.
“I gave my mother 4 cars and rented her a house at an estate. You do not know about these things yet you talk nonsense about me always. She doesn’t appreciate all the good things I did for her.”
